I'm in the same boat as I like to get the costumes - I love the cat costume on Tear:) I don't like that it avoids encounters though - makes it hard to get the cooking titles. Nly one of the costumes I use for Zestiria is a DLC costume. The rest are I got in game. I think Mikleo / Rose / Sorey have really good costumes.
